Spring is one of the most magical times to visit Sequoia National Park. The rivers are flowing, wildflowers are blooming, and the weather is just right for exploring—or simply relaxing in nature. But spring in the Sierras can be unpredictable, so knowing what to pack is key to making the most of your stay.
Whether you're coming for hikes, scenic drives, or a peaceful long weekend at one of our vacation rentals near the park, here’s your spring packing checklist to help you stay comfortable and prepared.

🧥 Layer Up—Temperatures Can Swing!
Spring mornings and evenings can be chilly, while midday might feel like summer.
Pack these essentials:
Lightweight jacket or fleece
Rain jacket (just in case!)
Long-sleeve shirts & short-sleeve shirts
Comfortable pants or leggings
A cozy sweatshirt for nighttime stargazing
🥾 Don’t Forget Your Feet
Even if you’re planning only easy trails or scenic overlooks, comfortable shoes make all the difference.
Bring:
Sturdy walking shoes or light hiking boots
Extra socks (in case you hit a puddle or stream)
Slip-ons or sandals for your rental
🌿 Nature Essentials
The beauty of Sequoia is in the details—don’t forget the gear that helps you enjoy it fully:
